Ringers
   
Question: How loud are the Model 196 and Model 198 ringers?  
Answer: They both put out at maximum 110dba @ 1 meter.  
   
Question: What sort of power is required to run the ringers?
Answer: The 196 is line powered operating from the ringing current on the central office line, whereas the Model 198 requires 24vdc and a contact closure.   
   
Question: Can the ringers be used out of doors?
Answer: Yes, both ringers are weatherized so they can be used out of doors, but should be protected from direct rain. (Install under some type of over hang to provide cover.)  
   
Question: Can the volume be adjusted on the ringers?
Answer: Yes, the 196 has a three position switch (low,med, high); the 198 has a continuous adjust volume control. ( full off to full on)  
   
Question: What do the ringers sound like?
Answer: A dual modulated tone, (very piercing)  
   
Question: How can I get more than one central office line to ring a single ringer?
Answer: The Model 173 allows three C.O. lines to be coupled together so that if any one rings it will in turn ring the common ringer (196). The Model 175 allows for up to 7 C.O. lines to be coupled together for the same function.
   
Question: What is the ringer equivalency number for the 196?
Answer: 2.7 B

Question: How many lines can the CM-30 observe?
Answer: 30  
   
Question: What's the maximum number of lines it can be expanded to accommodate?
Answer: 90  
   
Question: Can I have more than one person observing different agents at the same time?
Answer: The CM-30 & CM-10 will allow up to 4 observers to be observing at the same time, BUT THEY HAVE TO BE OBSERVING THE SAME AGENT. However, you can connect up to 4 CM-30's or CM-10's in parallel and in this way you can have 4 different observers each observing a different individual.  
   
Question: Can I remotely access the Observing Units?
Answer: Yes, using an Remote Access Unit.  
   
Question: Do I have to use a dedicated phone for the observer's telephone set?
Answer: No, you can tie the observer's tip and ring into a vacant C.O. port on the phone system and restrict access to that port to only the observing party.  
   
Question: How do the CM"s connect?
Answer: Their inputs tie down in a parallel arrangement over the tip and ring leads of the agents you want the ability to observe.

Powerfail Transfer Unit
   
Question: How many lines will a 154 handle?
Answer: 8 central office lines.  
   
Question: Will the 154 work with ground start lines?
Answer: Yes, ground start is built into the 154.
   
Question: What are the power requirements?
Answer: The Model 154 requires 48vdc, usually obtained from your PABX. On the Model 154A, 24vdc is required, and can be ordered along with the 154A.

Question: How can I connect an analog device to my MDC line, i.e. answering machine, modem, secure phone or fax machine?
Answer: The CTA-369 is an analog adapter that allows for connecting an analog device to the MDC line.  
   
Question: How do I connect a loud ringer to my MDC line?  
Answer: The DSI-375 is a Custom Ringer which allows for connecting an additional loud ringer, i.e. Model 198 to the MDC line.

Meridian Recording Interface
   
Question: What is the function of the MRI-320?
Answer: It converts the digital telephone signaling to analog recording requirements.
   
Question: What systems will the MRI-320 work with?
Answer: Only on Nortel's M1 PABX's and Norstar Key System. The MRI-320 will not work with MDC service.
   
Question: How many lines can be connected to the MRI-320?  
Answer: The MRI-320 is a 4 port device that can be connected to 4 Meridian Digital Terminals.  
   
Question: What is the output format of the MRI-320?  
Answer: 600 ohm analog output, with a contact closure indicating voice present.  
   
Question: Is the MRI-320 programable?  
Answer: Yes, you can select any line or group of lines on your Meridian Digital Terminal and add-on module to be recorded. This function is available on each of the 4 ports.  
   
Question: Can I record from a MDC line?  
Answer: Yes, the CRI-376 is a recording interface adapter that allows a selected line appearance on your Meridian Business Set to be interfaced to a recorder

Question: What products will work with the Model 368 power supply?
Answer: CTA-369, DSI-375, CRI-376, MRI-320, CM-10, CM-30.
   
Question: What products will work with the T193 power supply?
Answer: The Model 198  
   
Question: What products will work with the Model 193 power supply?  
Answer: The Model 154A.  
   
Note: The CTA-369, DSI-375, CRI-376 and the MRI-320 all come standard with a power supply. The CM-10, CM-30, Model 154A and 198 do not come standard with power supplies but can be ordered with power supplies as an option.
