70% range increase from the DMS100 switch!

The operating range of Northern Telecom's DMS100 switch for Digital CENTREX can be increased by 70% with the CLE-373. The normal operating range of Meridian Digital Centrex is 15,000 feet. By installing the CLE-373 at the Central Office you can increase this distance to 21,000 feet on 26 guage cable and to 26,000 feet on 24 gauge cable. The CLE compensates for losses between 21 dB and 35 dB. The CLE can provide the necessary gain to compensate both the messaging channel (8 KHz) and the voice channel (0-3 KHz). The CLE-373 offers flexible mounting by being compatible with the Wescom 400, Tellabs Type 10, UVF or MFT shelf types.

Application
Specifically designed for locations outside of the normal range of the DMS100 switch. If you want to have Meridian Business Sets installed in your office or home but are outside the normal limits of the DMS100 switch’s range, the CLE-373 could be the perfect solution. All the telephone company does is install the CLE at their Central Office where the DMS100 resides and the operational loop length to the MBS is extended. This means that Centrex service can be made available to many of those people who previously were unable to use Meridian Business Sets because they were too far from the Central Office.
